FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing zinc peroxide involves reaction of zinc hydroxide with hydrogen, followed by dehydration of the reaction product. When mixing the starting components, zinc hydroxide is added to a hydrogen peroxide solution. Zinc hydroxide is added in two steps - about 5% of the required amount is added first, and the remaining amount is added after 10-15 minutes. The components react in molar ratio zinc hydroxide/hydrogen peroxide Zn(OH)2/H2O2=1.0-0.87.
EFFECT: disclosed method of producing zinc peroxide ensures content of the basic substance in the obtained product and enables to minimise consumption of starting components, the amount of liquid wastes and processing time per unit end product.
