SUBSTANCE: method and device for partial or full foaming of cavities in a ballast structure of a ballast layer, under which an earth bed (7) is located, are realised with a reactive polymer, besides, reactive components are mixed in a high-pressure mixer (1, 26). The start time for a reactive mixture (4) is set so that the process of foaming substantially starts only when the reactive mixture reaches the earth bed (7).
EFFECT: longer service life of a ballast layer.
