SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive protective devices. Proposed device comprises holder-type protective elements. The latter are rigidly secured to car body at its front or rear for that pusher bent-off ends make additional front or rear bumper at distance ℓ_a≥ℓ from front or rear standard bumpers, respectively. Pusher bent-off end is provided, for attachment purposes, with ledge on one side and, on opposite side, strap is secured to make slot. Pusher bent-off end ledge enters aforesaid slot on adjacent holder-type device with zero or minor clearance. Proposed method consists in placing package on base. Said package is preassembled, crimp-in-crimp, from tapes. Parts of pusher with cover fitted thereon are placed on said base. Another identical package is placed on the pusher. Holder-type protective device case is mounted thereon. Said case is pressed against said base for it to be riveted and welded in place. Front and rear covers are mounted in place and welded to said case and said base. In fitting pusher parts in place, spacer inserts are mounted between and flush with them. Rigid thrusts are arranged on pusher end faces without clearances to retain said parts and inserts in creating interference on package crimp crests. Aforesaid inserts are removed from proposed device via provisional openings.
