FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry, namely to car bumpers. Car bumper assembly comprises bumper composed of box-cross-section straight beam with frontal lateral clearances. Multilayer multispan corrugated stacks composed of steel forged ground copper-plated corrugated tapes are arranged in said clearances. Smooth steel forged ground copper-plated tapes are fitted between said stacks and feature thickness larger than that of corrugated tapes. Body top and bottom flanges have rectangular through holes for clevises to pass there through to secure bumper to the car. Proposed protective device consists of two devices arranged one above the other. Their bumpers are jointed together by said clevises. Low-density (up to 20 kg/m3) polypropylene or polyurethane coating is secured to outer working surfaces of every said device. Bottom device extend beyond top device along the edges of top device on frontal and lateral sides. Interconnected corrugated stacks of bottom device are arranged only in frontal clearance between body outer wall and bumper. Thickness of coating and quantity of interconnected stacks are selected to kill "medium" frontal and lateral shocks and "strong" lateral shocks. With straightened crimps of top and bottom devices "strong" frontal shocks are killed. Complete straightening of both stacks occurs simultaneously.
EFFECT: efficient killing of frontal and lateral shocks.
