SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry. composition is added to a Bayer process settling solution in amount of 0.01-400 milligram per litre of the settling solution, where said composition contains a product of an ene reaction or Diels-Alder reaction of unsatutrated polycarboxylic acids or salts, amides, esters and mixtures thereof with unsaturated fatty acids, esters thereof or with polyolefins with molecular weight from 400 to 1000 Da. The composition is distributed in the settling solution and crystalline agglomerates of aluminium hydroxide are deposited from the solution.
EFFECT: invention increases the particle size of the deposited aluminium hydroxide.
