FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water desalting plants. Thermo electrical desalter comprises working chamber made of heat insulation material to accommodate thermo electrical batteries (TEB). Plant working chamber is divided into evaporation and condensation zones. Said working chamber incorporates sea water feed and discharge channels, and concentrated brine discharge channels. Heat-emitting junctions of one TEB are brought in contact with needle radiator arranged in sea water feed channel while heat-absorbing junctions are brought in condensation zone and in contact with heat-absorbing junctions of the other TEB via said needle radiator. TEB are supplied from programmable electric power supply. Working chamber comprises additionally wavy metal screen arranged in condensation zone at an angle, Heat with its surface brought in contact with TEB heat-emitting junctions via needle radiator, heat exchanger, and channel to feed air into condensation zone to accelerate condensation by steam blowing and mixing therewith in said zone.
