FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of extracting 1,2-dichloroethane from vinyl chloride production wastes, obtained via 1,2-dichloroethane thermal cracking. 1,2-dichloroethane is extracted from fractionation still residues through distillation in the presence of tert-butylpyrocatechol.
EFFECT: engineering solution enables to optimise technological, economic and environmental parameters of the process of producing vinyl chloride, since it enables to return extracted 1,2-dichloroethane for recycling and reduce the amount of liquid organochloride wastes.
