FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a 1,1,2-trichloroethane synthesis method which is realised through chlorination of vinyl chloride fractionation stillage residue with chlorine gas in mass ratio of said stillage residue to solvent equal to 1:6 - 6.5 in a solvent medium of 1,2-dichloroethane in the presence of an anhydrous iron (III) chloride catalyst in amount of 1.0-1.5% of the weight of solvent at 40-70°C and then extraction of the end product.
EFFECT: recycling vinyl chloride contained in wastes, higher output of the product.
