FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to composite materials with metal matrix. Aluminium-based powders are subjected to dry mixing in mixer wherein gas is forced at 15-25 mbar. Said gas contains neural gas, for example, nitrogen, and 5-10% of oxygen. Cold isostatic compaction of mixed powders is conducted at fluid pressure varying from 1500 bar to 4000 bar to produce compact. Hot unidirectional compaction of said compact is carried out at 400 to 600 °C and 1000 to 3000 bar to produce billet. Making mechanical part from billet is made by either forging or machining.
EFFECT: high mechanical properties, lower costs.
