FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method of engine operation consists in the fact that directly prior to ignition of a fuel and air mixture a small portion of gaseous fuel is supplied into a zone of electrodes of an ignition plug with a pulse matched in time with a spark discharge. At the same time to ensure reliable and efficient ignition, ratio of pressure in the combustion chamber to pressure of gaseous fuel at the moment of its supply start is maintained in the range from the critical one for gaseous fuel to 0.95.
EFFECT: reduced specific efficient flow of fuel due to mixture depletion.
