SUBSTANCE: method to control the soap concentration in the soap-soda solutions for machine washing of wool includes measuring the height of the column of foam produced by the free fall of the normalised volume of test solution flowing through a calibrated nozzle from a certain height to the surface of the same solution. At that simultaneously in the same solution taken out of the washing machine tub, at the operating temperature, the concentration of calcine soda is determined by titration to phenolphthalein in g/dm³ and taking into account the obtained values of the soda concentration and height of the column of foam from the formulas for fixed concentrations of soda: M₀₅=0.032H+0.55; M₁₅=0.031H+0.34 and M₂₅=0.033H-0,21, where H is the height of the foam column, in millimeters, and the indices 05, 15, 25 are fixed concentrations of soda, respectively, and 0.5, 1.5 and 2.5 g/dm³, or from graphs constructed by the formulas the concentration of soap is determine in g/dm³.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of the washing of wool, reduced consumption of washing agents, efficiency of in-process measurement of the process of machine washing of wool.
