SUBSTANCE: apparatus has at least one illumination device (12) for illuminating tracer particles (18) moving in the measurement volume (20) of the investigated stream and at least one camera (24) for taking multiple images of the moving tracer particles (18). The camera (24) has at least one lens (14) and an annular aperture (16) in front of or on said lens. The method for three-dimensional measurement of flow rate involves taking and displaying at least two successive images (26) of tracer particles (18). The images are taken by at least one camera (24) which has at least one lens (14) with an annular aperture (16) in front of or on the lens, such that the tracer particles (18) are displayed in form of rings or annular segments.
EFFECT: invention enables fast and contactless measurement without disrupting flow with relatively small expenses on tools.
