MULTIELEMENT MICROWAVE LOAD Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC H01P1/00

Abstract RU 2449431 C1

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: multielement microwave load contains dielectric substrate 1, one side of which is metalised, and the second accommodates branched film resistor 2, the first contact pad of which is connected with central conductor of strip line 3, via which microwave signal is supplied, and the second contact pad is connected with grounding base of substrate 4. Each branch of resistor is made as two steps of power dividing, the first - as in series, and the second -as in parallel connected by transmission strip lines 5 localised resistive elements 6. Substrate 1 can be common for entire load, or power dividing steps can be located on individual substrates. Due to the fact that branched film resistor is made as large number of localised resistive elements 6 connected in series or in parallel by strip transmission lines 5, which at high levels of dissipated power are located on individual substrates, increased allowable power dissipated by load is provided, as well as increased operating reliability and serviceability of load is provided due to excluding possibility of resistive elements local overheating.

EFFECT: providing increased allowable power dissipated by load, increased operating reliability and serviceability of load due to excluding possibility of resistive elements local overheating.
