FIELD: radio electronics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio electronics and instrumentation and can be used for given attenuation of a high-power high-frequency signal in a wide operating frequency range. Microwave attenuator is made of N symmetrical U-shaped structures, comprising film resistors with surface area reduced N times, which are cascade-connected through identical inductance coils, where in parallel to input and output of microwave attenuator are connected capacitors, which are respectively connected to first and last symmetrical U-shaped structure through same inductance coils, and capacitance of capacitors is equal to input stray capacitance of symmetrical U-shaped structures.
EFFECT: technical result is wider operating frequency band while maintaining specified level of power of input high-frequency signal.
