SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry, particularly, to air cushion inflation generator. Proposed gas generator comprises igniting means 2 for generation of gas and/or heat on activation by control signal sent by transport facility, first chamber 11 with combustible ignited by gas and/or heat created by igniting means 2, second chamber 12 containing inflating gas kept therein at pressure, outlet 41 to let inflating gas flow from second chamber into air cushion, and outlet seal 46. Gas generator 1 allows igniting combustible 3 by gas and/or heat produced by activated igniting means 2. Note here that pressure wave is generated in pressurised gas at direct or indirect action of gas generated by igniting means 2 to break seal 46 so that inflating gas may escape from second chamber 12 via outlet 41. Invention covers also method of inflating air cushion and air cushion module.
