FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: multi-layer coating contains an adhesive layer and a protective layer. The adhesive layer is made of chrome. Number of protective layer sublayers makes at least three, besides, each of them is made of metals or their combinations, or metal oxides, or metal silicides, in which the metals are chrome, aluminium, nickel, niobium, iron. The external sublayer of the protective layer is made of oxides or silicides of the specified metals, and sublayers from metals and/or their combinations are arranged between oxide and/or silicide sublayers. In particular cases of the invention realisation, sublayers of the protective layer of the coating are nanostructured and contain amorphous inclusions on the basis of silicon, metals and/or their combinations.
EFFECT: multi-layer coating is produced, which reliably protects a hydride-forming metal base against hydrogen corrosion during operation in a hydrogen-containing medium.
