FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to application of multilayer protective coating on cylindrical structural elements of nuclear reactors, particularly, fuel element shells. Proposed device comprises deposition chamber with at least one heating area. Substrate is displaced through said heating area and consists of the shell of nuclear reactor fuel elements, a set of at least two targets. Focused beam of pulse-intermittent laser brings intermittent effects of every said target. Every target has coating hat makes the material of protective layer on said substrate. Besides, this device has laser beam drive to displace it in direction of linear scanning of target surface wherefrom material is detached and deposited on substrate in deposition area in heating area. Every target is secured on spinning shaft and features axial symmetry relative to spinning axis, parallel with direction of substrate displacement through heating area. In compliance with this process, long shell is displaced through heating area. Besides, pulse-intermittent laser beam acts simultaneously or in turns while targets are continuously revolved.
EFFECT: efficient, precise-control production of multilayer coating, higher adhesion, corrosion and wear resistance, higher reliability of fuel element shells.
