FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: coating for protection against liquid metal corrosion of the steel substrate contains adhesive and protective layers. An adhesive layer is made of zirconium. The protective layer comprises inner and outer sublayers. The inner layer comprises two sublayers, one of which is made of zirconium nitride, and applied to the adhesive layer by ion-plasma spraying, and the second sub-layer is formed of zirconium oxide by means of thermo-chemical surface treatment of zirconium nitride sublayer. The outer layer is made of a material based on tungsten fusible glass.

EFFECT: increased adhesion strength of coating with substrate, increased resistance to destruction and formation of defects in conditions of high thermal stresses, reduced complexity of manufacture of the coating.
