FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: ambiguities on at least two differential measurements on the carrier phase are obtained by averaging corresponding frequency-weighted code measurements. These two measurements with calculated ambiguities are then combined with a corrected composite measurement. The resultant composite measurement has high noise due to amplification of multibeam propagation noise in initial measurements on the carrier phase. However, this noisy corrected measurement on the carrier phase can be smoothed out by another composite corrected measurement on the carrier phase with minimum noise. This corrected composite measurement on the carrier phase with minimum noise is constructed from primary measurements on the carrier phase before calculating their phase ambiguities.
EFFECT: by smoothing out the difference between two corrected measurements, noise can be reduced and offset in a low-noise level measurement can be estimated and then corrected.
