SUBSTANCE: process cartridge which can be detachably installed into the main unit of the electrophotographic image forming apparatus has an electrophotographic light-sensitive drum; a developer roller for developing an electrostatic latent image; a drum frame which supports said electrophotographic light-sensitive drum; a developer frame which supports said developer roller. The developer frame can move relative said drum frame and can occupy a contacting position where said developer roller is in contact with said electrophotographic light-sensitive drum, and a spaced position where said developer roller is spaced apart from said electrophotographic light-sensitive drum. A force-sensitive device, having a first force-sensitive area for detecting a first external force, and a second force-sensitive area for detecting a second external force, wherein said second force-sensitive area is in a ready position in which it is withdrawn from the operating position by said first force-sensitive area which detects a first external force.

EFFECT: design of a developer cartridge in which the electrophotographic light-sensitive drum and the developer drum can be brought into contact with each other or separated from each other, and which has considerably smaller dimensions.
