FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engines in which heat generated by catalytic oxidation is converted into mechanical energy, and can be used as an engine for vehicles. Essence of the invention lies in the fact that in a heat engine containing a cylinder with a piston inside it, The cylinder and/or piston is made solid or composite. Between the inner surface of the cylinder and the outer surface of the piston, a working chamber is formed in which a catalytic heating element is arranged, intended for heating the working medium as a result of the catalytic oxidation reaction. Catalytic heating element is made in the form of petals, the flat surface of which is oriented along the central longitudinal axis of the cylinder, wherein the petals of the catalytic heating element are installed uniformly radially with respect to the central axis of the heating element and are fixed relative to each other. In this case, the cylinder is provided with inlet and outlet ports for feeding one or more components of the working medium into the working chamber and exhaust of exhaust gases from the working chamber, and the piston is mounted to be movable along the central longitudinal axis of the cylinder. Working medium contains a mixture of air and fuel.
EFFECT: technical result is the reduction of heat losses during engine operation, increase of engine power, simplification of engine design, increase of reliability.
