FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of making coating from cubic body-centered nickel aluminide (NiAl) with controlled thickness of 50-110 mcm and Vickers hardness of 880-1100 on nickel-based alloy surface, nickel content making at least 40 wt %, is implemented as follows. Surfaces to be coated are activated by sand blasting using aluminium oxide solid particles sized to mesh aperture varying from 30 to 120 mesh at air pressure of 5.5 ± 0.5 kg/cm2, primarily, with subsequent size control and degreasing. Commercially pure aluminium is thermal sprayed on surfaces to be coated to definite preset thickness of 100-200 mcm, preferably, 100-120 mcm. Then, aluminium sprayed as specified above on nickel-based alloy substrate subjected to diffusion thermal treatment in vacuum at 950 to 1100°C for 1.0 to 1.5 h. Said treatment makes aluminium interact with said substrate to produce required nickel-aluminide coat thereon with controlled thickness and hardness. Now coated surface is subjected to surface cleaning.
EFFECT: higher resistance to corrosion and wear.
