FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method is based on the effect of parametric demodulation of electromagnetic waves with acoustic radiation, according to which, in order to receive a message from an underwater facility, an acoustic wave is directed to the given region on the water surface for receiving electromagnetic waves bearing the message. Acoustic waves are emitted by main acoustic radiators uniformly lying along the housing of the underwater facility. Acoustic waves are phased on each radiator through delay lines controlled by echo sounders, while successively forming on the water surface a coherent linear region (a virtual electrical antenna) in whose zone parametric demodulation of electromagnetic waves propagating along the water surface is carried out with selection of the modulation frequency.
EFFECT: high sensitivity and depth of the underwater radio receiver and broader functional capabilities for receiving radio signals by non-specialised radio stations, particularly public communication and navigation radio systems at low frequencies.
