FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport. Proposed method of identification in contactless thermal control by IR hardware proceeds from analysis of bearing heating in every rolling stock unit. Availability of cylindrical or taper bearings is decided on by comparing with preset threshold Qthreshol of indicator Qmean i.e, ratio of mean average excess temperature of bearing assemblies (axle boxes) on even mounted axles to those on odd mounted axles, that is, dTthreshol even-to-dTmean_even ratio. In case indicator Qmean_= dTmean_even /K* dTmean_even >Qthreshold, then, for both taper and cylindrical bearings of rolling stock unit automatically set are higher thresholds of axle box overheating registration, while if Qmean= dTmean_even /K* dTmean_even <Qthreshold, then, for rolling stock cylindrical bearings, set are invariable or decreased said thresholds with due allowance for the fact that numerical values of factor K* are selected from the range of 1.00, 1.05…1.15 and so on depending on quantity of mounted axles in rolling stock units.
EFFECT: higher validity of identification and estimation of serviceability.
