FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus for infrared drying of seeds has tubular infrared radiators mounted under reflectors, said radiators having a ceramic functional cladding and an electrically heated coil inside, which are mounted on dielectric supports of the frame over trays carrying the layer of seeds, apparatus for reloading treated seeds onto the tray of a descending deck and a ventilator, fastened by a heat-insulated cover. The novelty is that infrared radiators with wavelength 1.5-3.0 mcm are distributed along the tray, whose bottom is in form of a teflon belt of an endless conveyor with spacing equal to 1.1-1.3 times the distance to the layer of the sunflower seeds on the belt with height of 2-3 cm, and reloading apparatus which is a bin fitted with a slide gate of an outlet port fitted between decks in chequered order at opposite ends of their transporters, wherein the conical tapering angle of the reloading bin is greater than the angle of repose of the granular material.
EFFECT: invention must ensure given quality of drying sunflower seeds suitable for prolonged storage.
