FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method and apparatus employ two Hall sensors placed in gaps of one or two magnetic conductors. Like planes of the Hall sensors are identically aligned relative external interference-generating fields, and the Hall sensors are arranged relative the measured magnetic field such that the measured magnetic flux enters the plane of one sensor and comes out of the like plane of another sensor. Output voltages of the Hall sensors are applied across the inverting and non-inverting inputs of a differential amplifier. The earth terminal of the amplifier is connected to like output leads of the Hall sensors. The measurement result is defined as the difference between output voltages, wherein voltages induced by the external interference-generating magnetic and electric fields are compensated for.
EFFECT: reduced error when measuring current in a conductor.
