FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises comparing mismatch between preset and measured positions of turbine distributor. In case mismatch exceeds first preset magnitude, warning signal ''DISTRIBUTOR FAILURE'' is generated for operator, gas turbine unit is decelerated and shut down. In case mismatch is smaller than second preset magnitude alarm signal ''EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN'' is generated irrespective of operating conditions of gas turbine to shut it down.
EFFECT: higher reliability.
