FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus for synchronising optical signal sources has a unit comprising a relay, retroreflector, an optical signal transceiver, and a unit for transmitting signals and measuring time intervals, wherein the retroreflector of the first unit receives signals at a first frequency from the second unit and reflects these signals to the second unit, the transceiver of the first unit receives optical signals at a third frequency from the second unit and relays them in form of optical signals at a second frequency, received y the second unit, and the time interval measuring apparatus of the second unit measures two time intervals: the time interval between the onset of the first signal, which controls transmission by the second unit of the signal at the first frequency, and the second signal which acknowledges reception by the second unit of that signal, which is reflected by the retroreflector of the first unit, and the time interval between the onset of the first signal and the third signal, which acknowledges reception by the second unit of the signal at the third frequency.
EFFECT: reduced load on communication apparatus and faster process of synchronising interaction of computing devices owing to generation of a message which is common for the group of computing devices.
