FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming. Hinge links are assembled manually. Said links are placed in semi-automatic assembly machine for final assembly. Grease is fed into hinge link lugs while pin is fed from vibrating bin. Pin is inserted into assembled hinge. Pin is secured in said links on upsetting pin ends on hinge link outer ends. Pin ends are upset solely along cross-section outer circle by hollow male die. Male die cavity diameter is smaller than that of pin. Immediately behind cutting edge supporting forces are created by male die chamfered inclined surface. Said support forces ensure metal plastic yielding along axis in male die displacement to limit material radial spreading.
EFFECT: better fastening and mobility of hinge links.
