SECURING OF AXLE IN VEHICLE HINGE LINKS BY CLACKING IN LINK LUG OPENING Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC B21D39/04 

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used on automotive industry for securing of various parts. Door is preassembled for painting of car body with the use of axle made with groove at its first step, its depth making 0-0.5 mm relative to second step lateral surface and at second step at least 1 mm from first step and having splines abutting on each other by their bases to make the grooves. Said axle is fitted in door hinge link lug till axle first step end thrusts against the lug surface with partial pressing of axle splines into link lug opening inner surface and pressing the metal in said grooves to make the splines mating with those between axle splines. After body painting, axle is withdrawn from the hinge to make the final assembly with calking of axle in lug opening. It is pressed 1 mm deeper that at preassembly with upsetting by end surface of hinge fixed link surface ply first step and splines of said opening. Groove and gaps between lug splines to allow air and moisture ingress in spline joint area.

EFFECT: locked axle in hinge, antirust protection of spline joint.
