FIELD: blasting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to breaking an ice cover with the help of an explosion. The method to break an ice cover is carried out by creating a gas cavity with high pressure under the lower ice edge. The cavity is created by firing at an ice cover from a weapon with the main hollow-charge shell with tandem arrangement of two composite hollow-charge shells capable of alternation ignition with a time interval. It is reasonable to install the weapon barrel at the angle providing for vertical fall of the shell on ice.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase efficiency of ice cover damage, to ensure safety of blasting and to reduce costs for their realisation.
