FIELD: blasting operations. SUBSTANCE: process demolishing ice cover includes preparation of gas space, installation of main explosive charge under ice at certain depth and its initiation. Gas space is prepared by means of gas generator positioned inside chamber with elastic walls partially gas permeable and water impermeable to produce heated gas before blast of main explosive charge which is placed under ice right by lower ice edge at some distance from main explosive charge along horizontal line. EFFECT: reduced labor input and enhanced demolition efficiency of ice cover. 1 dwg
