FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: device has a block of monitoring and test equipment, of remote control and data exchange and a mechanism for moving along a helical path, which provides an ability of changing direction. That said, according to the invention, the mechanism of movement is made in the form of a chain with castors or wheels, in which a pair of adjacent units are separated along the axis of cylindrical products such as pipes, and is connected via a platform with fasteners located at a distance equal to a step of the screw trajectory of scanning. The links of the chain are made in the form of platforms, connected to one another by studs with an ability of link rotation relative to the connecting pins and changes in their number in the chain.
EFFECT: simplified construction of the device, increasing the scanning speed while maintaining accuracy and reliability of control.
