METHOD OF SUBPLEURAL ANALGESIA MODIFICATION IN THORACIC SURGERY Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B17/00 A61M25/01 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to thoracic surgery and can be used in case of necessity of performing subpleural analgesia after thoracotomy because of lung resection. For this purpose from inside of operation wound without additional cut of chest tissues parietal pleura is punctured with Tuohy needle G18. Catheter is passed to intervertebral foramens through tissues of intercostal muscles on needle, in such a way that distal end of catheter is in paravertebral space, rigidly fixed in tissues of intercostal muscles, 1-2 cm from the place of formation of intercostal nerves from branches of spinal nerves. After that proximal end of catheter is brought out on chest surface and fixed to skin by means of suture. Thoracotomy wound is sewn and anesthetic is introduced through installed catheter with application of doser-syringe at rate 8-12 ml per hour.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to ensure adequate analgesia with simultaneous reduction of risk of complications development due to creation of reliable regional afferent protection without application of additional tissue dissection.
