FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: laser radar has a continuous-action CO2 laser, a transmitting telescope, a receiving lens and a photodetector operating in homodyne mode of photomixing. The photodetector is connected to series-connected low-noise high-frequency wideband amplifier, mixer, wideband amplifier, a filter which compensates for wideband amplifier losses, amplitude detector, threshold device, a unit for generating a radial velocity signal and a personal computer. The computer is connected to a unit for measuring the azimuth and elevation angle of the target. The second input of the mixer is connected to a linear-frequency-modulated pulsed signal generator which is synchronised by a clock-pulse generator. The optical resonator of the CO2 includes a piezoelectric corrector connected to the blind reflector of the optical resonator and the output of an amplitude-controlled amplifier. The range-measuring channel includes the following, connected in series to the output of the photodetector: a low-noise midfrequency band amplifier, an additional mixer, a filter, a frequency detector, a resonance amplifier, a phase difference metre and a range signal generating unit.
EFFECT: possibility of measuring slant range to a target without reducing energy potential of the laser Doppler radar.
