FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: pedometer includes an acceleration sensor configured to switch between a measurement mode, wherein the number of steps taken by the user are counted based on the shape of the wave received from that sensor, and a training mode, wherein data about one step, used to determine one step in measurement mode, are studied. The pedometer also has a setting means for compelling the user to take the given reference number of steps in training mode and for setting data about one step, including the threshold value of the amplitude and period of a step, based on said reference number of steps and reference shape of the wave received from the acceleration sensor when taking said reference number of steps.

EFFECT: design of a pedometer which can easily and accurately set data used to determine one step.
