FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing spherical particles of combustible or nuclear fuel from an oxide of a group of heavy metals uranium, plutonium or mixtures thereof. The method involves the following steps: obtaining a starting solution of a nitrate of a heavy metal, adding a first reagent from a group comprising urea and/or ammonium carbonate and/or ammonium bicarbonate and/or ammonium cyanate and/or biuret at room temperature, heating the obtained solution to temperature 80°C≤T<Ts, where Ts is the boiling point of the solution, holding said solution for a time 2 h ≤ t ≤ 8 h, cooling to temperature TA ≥ room temperature, adding a second reagent in form of PVA and/or THFA to establish viscosity of the solution, draining the solution in droplets to form microbeads, surface solidification of the microbeads in an atmosphere containing ammonia, trapping the microbeads in the solution containing ammonia, subsequent washing, drying and thermal treatment.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain combustible or nuclear fuel with good properties using a simple method, while avoiding use of problematic organic substances.
