FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: container is provided with a row of 5-16 sensor electrodes arranged in series on the height of the container and one emitter electrode lying not higher than the bottom sensor electrode. The space between each pair of neighbouring sensor electrodes, just as the space between the top sensor electrode and the top boundary of the container and the space between the bottom sensor electrode and the bottom of the container, form elementary volumes. All electrodes are connected to a unit for processing readings with a means of displaying, through which closing and opening of electrical circuits of the sensor electrodes with the emitter electrode is determined. The time for which the surface layer of the liquid is in the corresponding elementary volume is determined. Current determination of the volume of liquid flowing through the container is carried out in the elementary volume as a sum of the product of the time for which the liquid is in that elementary volume and the rate of discharge of the liquid from the same elementary volume.
EFFECT: high accuracy of monitoring the life of a filter cartridge in filter devices of an arbitrary shape.
