FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical instruments, particularly, to method of preparing gas mixes intended for testing operation of gas analysers in operating conditions. Proposed method comprises evacuating residual gases from tank, feeding impurity gas and, then, carrier gas therein at appropriate ratio. Note here that syringe-type device represents tank while cigarette smoke represents impurity gas source. Constant concentration of carbon monoxide in cigarette smoke is ensured by stabilisation of temperature and area of sampling smoke from burning cigarette. Evacuation of residual gases is performed by setting syringe plunger at zero position while required carrier gas-to-impurity gas ratio is set by displacing said plunger.
