FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food and chemical industries, particularly, to making fine emulsions in systems consisting of immiscible components, for example, water phase and oil. Proposed device comprises outer and several iner coaxial vortex chambers whereto fed are emulsion components to be mixed. Tangential feed of dispersing medium in inner vortex chambers creates vortex flow with wide localised axially symmetric cavitation zone. Axial feed of fine-jet flow into central, most intensive cavitation zone, facilitates its destruction and rules out slipping by said zones. Multiple ingress of dispersed fluid in cavitation zone of several serial vortex chambers increases degree of dispersity.
EFFECT: eliminated low-low zones, reduced inlet pressure, hence, power saving.
