FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to devices and methods for nerve stimulation therapy. The device for tissue stimulation comprises a stimulation conductor introduced in tissue, having a longitudinal axis, a number of electrodes carried by the conductor and surrounding the longitudinal axis in a two-dimensional closely-packed amount having a number of angled spaced columns and longitudinally spaced rows, a collimating point carried by the conductor and describing an angular orientation of the conductor. A stimulating filed generated by the number of electrodes is controlled in three dimensions and formed according to the spatially- and time-variable electric stimulation scheme. According to the second version of the device, the stimulation conductor has an external cross section with rotational symmetry. The method for tissue stimulation consists in the introduction of the stimulation conductor in the tissue of interest and the application of an electric pulse to the first stimulating electrode to generate the stimulating electric field. The change of the electric pulse applied at least to the first and second shielded electrode is used to change distribution of the stimulating electric field along three spatial dimensions.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables improving conductor positioning.
