FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for production of wear proof materials with the help of explosive power, in particular, pairs of friction, braking devices, etc to be operated in aggressive media. Explosion welding is used to make five-layer billet of alternating layers of rustproof steel and titanium arranged to be subjected to explosion welding in multilayer stack of steel layers together. Welded billets are hot rolled to get two multilayer billets from 6-8 five-layer billets by explosion welding. Multilayer stack is composed of two multilayer billets to be jointed by explosion welding. Welded multilayer stack is annealed. Produced titanium-steel composite material comprises up to 48 layers of rustproof steel, up to 17 layers of titanium and up to 64 solid intermetallic 0.2-0.3 mm-thick layers arranged between titanium and steel layers.
EFFECT: increased rust resistance and allowable wear in operation in aggressive media.
