FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: between titanium plates copper plate is installed with set ratio of layers thickness. Welding by explosion of the made assembly is performed at speed of explosive charge detonation 1970-2400 m/s. Height of the explosive charge and welding gaps between the welded plates are selected on the condition to achieve collision speed of top titanium plate with copper plate in range 560-715 m/s, copper plate and bottom titanium plate - 535-640 m/s, bottom titanium plate with bottom copper plate - 410-470 m/s. Annealing of the welded blank is performed to create solid intermetallic layers between the titanium and copper at temperature exceeding by 25-125°C temperature of contact melting of copper and titanium for 1-5 min with further cooling in air.
EFFECT: produced composite copper-titanium material has high thermal resistivity of heat-protective intermetallic layers and thermal conductivity of separate metal layers upon reducing time for formation of unit of thickness of the heat-protective intermetallic layers due to high speed of the growth during manufacturing of the composite material.
