FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technique for desalination or demineralisation of sea, salty and mineralised water via thermal distillation based on the flash evaporation (boiling) principle. The flash evaporation apparatus for producing desalinated water, having a horizontal housing with end tube grids, housing longitudinal partition walls which divide the housing across into a central chamber and side chambers with longitudinal bundles of horizontal tubes, a separating device lying over the central chamber and mounted on top edges of the longitudinal partition walls on the entire length, and a device for feeding superheated desalinated water, characterised by that the housing, which is cylindrical, is provided with an additional longitudinal partition wall which is parallel to and spaced from the inter wall of the housing, said additional partition wall encircling the longitudinal bundles of horizontal tubes and the separating device and mounted on bottom edges of the main longitudinal partition wall; a plate is mounted below on the inner wall on the entire length of the housing, said plate being provided with a deflector; the device for feeding superheated desalinated water is in form of a collector lying over the apparatus with vertical pipes which link the inside of the housing, diametrically opposite which pipes for outlet of evaporated water from the apparatus are fitted on the housing.

EFFECT: invention enables to use the entire volume of the apparatus for maximum purification of steam from droplet entrainment.
