SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to a crystalline form of A [4-(3-fluor-5-trifluoromethylpyridin-2-yl)- piperazin-1-yl]-[5-methanesulphonyl-2-((S)-2,2,2-trifluoro-1-methylethoxy)-phenyl]-methanone characterised by at least three peaks specified in X-ray diffraction peaks given below and prepared with CuKα emission, expressed in degrees 2Teta=13.1, 14.3, 15.4, 16.2, 17.1, 17.2, 17.6, 18.0, 19.8, 20.1, 20.4, 21.0, 22.6 and 24.3 (±0,2). As well as to a method for preparing said crystalline form, to a pharmaceutical composition exhibiting GLyT1 activity and containing the given form of the compound as an active ingredient, as well as to the use of the form of A [4-(3-fluor-5-trifluoromethylpyridin-2-yl)- piperazin-1-yl]-[5-methanesulphonyl-2-((S)-2,2,2-trifluoro-1-methylethoxy)-phenyl]-methanone for preparing a drug applicable for psychotic disorders, pain, neurodegenerative memory and training dysfunction, schizophrenia, dementia and other diseases associated with cognitive processes, such as minimal brain dysfunction or Alzheimer's disease.
EFFECT: what is described is the new form of the compound A [4-(3-fluor-5-trifluoromethylpyridin-2-yl)- piperazin-1-yl]-[5-methanesulphonyl-2-((S)-2,2,2-trifluoro-1-methylethoxy)-phenyl]-methanone which can find application in treating the diseases associated with disturbed cognitive processes such as minimal brain dysfunction or Alzheimer's disease.
