SUBSTANCE: what is described is a diagnostic technique for cytokine imbalance in a human body wherein the interleukin indices are determined as the relations of pro- and anti-inflammatory fractions in blood serum to the reference values; the arithmetic means are determined for each fraction; the integral cytokine index I_c (standard units) is calculated by formula: Ic=I₁+(I₂-1), wherein I₁ is the arithmetic mean of the pro-inflammatory interleukin indices, I₂ is the arithmetic mean of the pro-inflammatory interleukin indices, and the values I_c≤1 enables stating the optimum cytokine balance, while the value I_c>1 shows its imbalance (intensified inflammatory processes).

EFFECT: higher accuracy and reliability of assessing cytokine balance and inflammatory changes in the human body.
