FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves determining an integral cytokine index as a total arithmetical mean of pro-inflammatory interleukin indices and anti-inflammatory interleukin indices. The cytokine concentration is determined at the moment of aggravation of severe bronchial asthma and after an arrest thereof. The pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α, INF-γ and the anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-10 are detected for allergic and steroid-dependent severe bronchial asthma. The pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-2, IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α, INF-γ and the anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4, IL-10 are detected for non-allergic bronchial asthma. If a difference of the integral cytokine index calculated at the moment of aggravation of severe bronchial asthma and the integral cytokine index after the arrest is 1 standard unit or more, a possibility to achieve the high efficacy of the basic anti-inflammatory therapy of severe bronchial asthma is predicted; if the difference is less than 1 standard unit, the basic therapy is predicted to be low-effective.
EFFECT: higher efficacy of basic therapy of severe bronchial asthma.
