SUBSTANCE: method to assign a sequence and a device of sequence assignment, besides, in a system, where multiple different sequences of Zadov-Chu or GCL sequences are assigned to one cell, number of arithmetic operations and extent of correlation circuit integration at a receiving end may be reduced. According to this method and device, at ST201, a counter (a) and number (p) of current sequence assignments are initialised, and at ST202 it is identified, whether the number (p) of current sequence assignments matches number (K) of assignments to one cell. At ST203 it is identified, where the number (K) of assignments to one cell is odd or even. If K is an even number, at ST204-ST206, numbers of sequences (r=a and r=N-a), which are not currently assigned, are combined and then assigned. If K is an odd number, at ST207-ST212, for sequences with no pair one of sequence numbers (r=a and r=N-a) is assigned, which are not currently assigned.

EFFECT: reduced scope of calculations.
