SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine and represents method of metabolic acidosis correction, which includes measuring deficiency of bases and patient's body weight, introduction of sodium hydrocarbonate solution, which is characterised by the fact that hydrogen pH index and level of carbon dioxide CO2 in patient's arterial blood are additionally measured, desired value of hydrogen index pHopt and tension of carbonic acid in arterial blood PaCO2OPT are determined, necessary quantity of sodium hydrocarbonate infusion of definite concentration is calculated by formula: NaHCO3={((BEpatient-((((24*paCO2opt)/(10^-pHopt*1000000000))-((7.4-pHopt)*10))*-24))}*BW*0.2)/(NaHCO3percent*0.12), where NaHCO3 is quantity of necessary solution of sodium hydrocarbonate in ml, paCO2opt -desired value of hydrogen index of patient's arterial blood, BE patient are initial values of patient's base deficiency, NaHCO3percent is concentration of sodium hydrocarbonate NaHCO3, in %, BW is patient's body weight in kilograms.

EFFECT: invention ensures reduction of risk of hypernatremia and metabolic alkalosis development.
