METHOD FOR CORRECTION OF METABOLIC ACIDOSIS IN ACUTE PERIOD OF BURN DISEASE Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61M5/00 A61K31/194 A61K9/08 A61P7/08

Abstract RU 2807236 C1

FIELD: intensive-care medicine.

SUBSTANCE: used to correct metabolic acidosis in patients with severe burn injury in the acute period of burn disease. Hydrocarbonate deficiency (HCO3 - ) is determined by laboratory testing of acid-base balance (ABB) indicators and intravenous drip administration of a 1.5% solution of sodium meglumine succinate is carried out in an amount calculated according to a given formula, but not less than 700 ml per day. At the same time, every 12 hours the ABB indicators are monitored, based on the results of which sodium meglumine succinate is reintroduced with the amount calculated according to a given formula.

EFFECT: method increases the effectiveness of correction of metabolic acidosis in the acute period of burn disease, allows to shorten the period of artificial ventilation of the lungs and, as a result, reduce the risk of developing ventilator-associated pneumonia and other infectious complications due to the introduction of a 5% solution of sodium meglumine succinate, which allows to stop the phenomena of acidosis, restore the activity of enzyme systems and at the same time acts as a substrate in the cellular respiration cycle, activating energy-dependent processes without aggravating electrolyte imbalance and the severity of renal failure.
